Love the happiness here!  This picture captures the pure bliss of marriage and the joy of knowing all the hard work and stress of planning the big day was totally worth it.  I know as soon as my hubby & I left our wedding reception, we were jumping for joy too!

Anybody else have a fun photo-op like this after the reception??

Marriage Is...

Not really sure about the "men who have a pierced ear are better prepared for marriage" part - in my experience, having my ears pierced wasn't that painful, but the rest of the saying is great.

Valentine's Day Table

Whether you're planning a romantic dinner for your man or opting to host a party for your favorite friends, Valentine's Day should be celebrated in style.  This year, Valentine's Day falls on a weeknight, and since I'm sure most of you are super busy during the week, I've come up with some quick and easy ideas for throwing together a pretty and affordable tablescape without having to put in too much time or effort.  It's not elaborate, but sometimes the simpler things are, the better.

Make sure you pick up some fresh flowers.  You don't have to go with roses - any pink, red or white flowers will do.

Wrap little favors or gifts in white paper and tie with pink or red ribbon.

Look for festive dishes in unexpected places.  For instance, I found little heart-shaped ceramic ramekins at Michael's craft store.  They were the perfect complement to this table setting.

I found tiny Eiffel Tower keychains my husband and I picked up in Paris a couple of years ago, and I placed them around the table.  My husband was so surprised to see them - it brought back a lot of memories from that trip, which was very special to us.  You can't tell from the picture, but I found champagne flutes that have the word "sante" etched on the side ("sante" = French word for "cheers").

See if you have any little souvenir from a trip that you could incorporate into your table.  Sometimes little unexpected details speak volumes.

Keep things simple.  I kept the bigger pieces white (i.e. tablecloth) and accessorized with red and pink napkins.

Set up a little dessert station.  Here, we have petit fours with red and pink hearts.

Wishful Thinking

It has been winter for too long now.  I can't stop wishing for bright colors, warm temperatures and lots and lots of sunshine!  Anybody have any vacations planned for spring break?  I am just dying to jet away to somewhere tropical for a bit.

Statement Jewlery

I'm really wanting to update my jewelry collection this year by adding a few more pieces that can be either dressed up or dressed down.  I'm especially loving statement pieces - they are showing up everywhere.  From chunky rings to eye-catching bracklets to statement necklaces, a bride would look s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g in one of these pieces.  It it very common to see brides incorporating a piece of statement jewelry into their wedding day style because it is a little bit unexpceted, a little bit edgy and very glamourous.
