The art of perfection...in a cake!

If you haven't checked out Sweetapolita's delicious site, you must do so now!  She fills her blog with the most mouth-watering cakes and sweet recipies.  I am just dying to try to bake this cake, a stunning 5-layer Neapolitan Birthday Cake...I think I might just have to bake it for myself on my birthday in 3 weeks. :)

How AMAZING is that?!  So pretty!  I love the layers of strawberry, chocolate and vanilla cake...what a clever idea to bake this delicious combination of flavors into one cake.  And, as you can tell from the picture above, Rosie of Sweetapolita is also a talented photographer.  Click here to read her post about this cake on her website.

Valentine's Day Inspiration

February is fast-approaching us.  It just so happens to be my favorite month of the year, for several reasons: (1) It is my birthday month! (2) Pink & red are my favorite colors, and they are seen just about everywhere during this cheerful month. (3) VALENTINE'S DAY = cards, sweets & loveliness galore!  This Valentine's Day, try hosting a sweet dinner party for your friends and the ones you love, like this one found on Pizzazzerie.

I recently got the new PhotoShop Lightroom 3.  It is AMAZING and has done wonders for my photos!  I am slightly obsessed.  If you haven't tried it, you can download a free 30-day trial from Adobe.  I am fairly new to photography and am definitely still getting used to the ins-and-outs of the process - from shooting to editing - but Lightroom 3 has really improved my technique.  Not only does it enhance the colors and lighting of my images, but it also helps me become more aware of how I set up my subjects before shooting.  I highly recommend giving it a try!
